Established in 1967, Ski Broncs is a youth and family-focused water ski show team performing twice-weekly shows on the Rock River at Shorewood Park all summer long. A 501c3 organization, Ski Broncs runs on committed volunteers and generous donations to create free full-production performances for the Loves Park community and surrounding region.

Ski Broncs is on a mission to improve its community and promote the sport of water skiing through the impact it has on participants and those who relate to it as a water ski show team. With a vision bigger than itself, the team brings smiles to thousands of fans every summer, provides Learn-to-Ski and Adaptive Ski events, participates in River Clean-Ups, provides safety support for Head of the Rock Rowing Regatta and Rock River Anything That Floats Race, participates in local celebrations and parades, and loves its community of Loves Park, Illinois. The team also hosts regional and national tournaments at Shorewood Park, bringing significant economic opportunity into the region.

Ski Broncs is comprised of individuals and families of all ages. In addition to skiing (and climbing) performers, each show requires directors, drivers, spotters, dock personnel, announcers, sound technicians, concessions workers, safety personnel, and more! Families are encouraged to join together where everyone can find a role to help the team.

Shows are twice a week from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend, with practices every weeknight there isn’t a show in the summer. Special events are held many weekends, and off-season practices continue indoors throughout the winter. Much work is done to organize and lead the team through a board of directors and committees, and incredible amounts of behind-the-scenes work is done to repair and maintain a fleet of six boats and a huge collection of skis, ropes, and equipment. It is volunteering with a purpose and it also draws members together as family. Ski Broncs has impacted countless people in a very positive way.
