Sep 15, 2006 | ELECTIONS for Board of Directors
Participation requested! Please volunteer yourself and nominate others for a board position, then be sure to vote Septemeber 16, 9:30 a.m. at Shorewood. Election Nomination form is on door of building.



Board of Directors: Shall consist of the following 11 positions. Officers will serve a 2 year term with the President and Recording Secretary elected on even calendar years, and the Vice-President and Treasurer elected on odd calendar years.



PRESIDENT (Executive Board/Officer)
2 YEAR TERM
Matt Pehler until 2007
  • Calls and presides at all meetings of the Club and Board of Directors.
  • Ensures that all duties and responsibilities of the Board of Directors and committees are carried through.
  • Calls and presides at all executive meetings of committee heads.



    VICE-PRESIDENT (Executive Board/Officer)
    2 YEAR TERM
    Nominations needed to fill this position.
  • Presides in the absence of the President at all meetings of the Club and the Board of Directors.
  • Oversees election procedures.
  • Makes arrangements for time, place and date.
  • Responsible for ballots and qualified personnel.
  • Responsible for insurance coverage on boats, motors, trailers and Equipment.



    TREASURER (Executive Board/Officer)
    2 YEAR TERM
    Nominations needed to fill this position.
  • Receives and deposits all funds in a timely manner.
  • Prepares a budget with the Board of Directors and submits it to the general membership for approval.
  • Keeps complete and accurate records of all assets and financial transactions.
  • Prepares written end of the month financial statement to be submitted to the board of directors and permanent records.
  • Responsible for picking up mail and distributing to proper personnel.
  • Background in bookkeeping will be helpful.



    RECORDING SECRETARY (Executive Board/Officer)
    2 YEAR TERM
    Amy Kling until 2007
  • Keeps complete and accurate records of the proceedings of all meetings of the club and the Board of Directors.
  • Summarizes all meetings to be submitted to the newsletter and/or posted in the building at the park.
  • Files an up-to-date official roster of all members to be kept in the records.
  • Collects and files annual reports from all committee heads.






    CORRESPONDING SECRETARY
    1 YEAR TERM
    Nominations needed to fill this position.
  • Performs club correspondence and submits said action to permanent records.
  • Notifies members of all regular and special meetings.
  • Responsible for sending cheers and condolences



    SHOW DIRECTOR
    1 YEAR TERM
    Nominations needed to fill this position.
  • Serves as a chairperson for Show Committee.
  • Responsible for and has final say for all phases of show design and execution.
  • Responsible for and has final say for all phases of tournament registration, rules and show execution with all other personnel.
  • Appoints an Assistant Show Director or Directors and whatever backup personnel that are required to carry out the responsibilities of the position.



    PROMOTIONS DIRECTOR
    1 YEAR TERM
    Nominations needed to fill this position.
  • Serves as chairperson and responsible for organizing, overseeing and budgeting for advertising and promotion for all activities.
  • Must attend monthly executive meetings.



    MEMBERSHIP DIRECTOR
    1 YEAR TERM
    Nominations needed to fill this position.
  • Accepts and processes membership applications from prospective members.
  • Orients prospective members to the club purposes and membership responsibilities.
  • Presents prospective members to the Board of Directors and the general membership.
  • Must present every member a copy of the Club By-Laws and Rules and Regulations.
  • Coordinates the filing of USA Water-ski memberships by making sure all members have individually paid their membership dues.
  • Provides list of all USA Water-ski activity to the Treasurer and Recording Secretary.
  • Sends statement to all members for payment of yearly club dues.
  • Statements will be mailed by December 15th of the current fiscal year.



    BOATS AND MOTORS DIRECTOR
    1 YEAR TERM
    Nominations needed to fill this position.
  • Serves as chairperson of the club boat and trailer committee.
  • Reports to the General Membership concerning the status of all boats and motors.
  • Oversees and performs the rules and regulations concerning the use of club boats.
  • Chief Boat Driver will provide a list of all qualified drivers to the boat and motor director. The list will be posted at the show site.
  • Responsible for obtaining serial and model numbers on all boats, motors and trailers.
  • Works with Vice-President to arrange for proper
    insurance coverage.



    TWO MEMBERS AT-LARGE
    1 YEAR TERM EACH
    Nominations needed to fill these positions.
  • May serve as chairperson of one or more standing committees.
  • Other responsibilities as directed by the President.







    To run for the office of President, a member must have served on the Board of Directors for at least one year, within the past three years.



    To run for the board positions of Recording Secretary, Corresponding Secretary, Member at Large and Boat and Motor Director, a member must have been in good standing with the Club for the past four months and be at least eighteen years of age to be elected to the board and must be represented at the annual meeting in person or by written proxy. Furthermore, the Boat and Motor Director must have a sponsor to work with him the first year, if he has not been a member for a full year.



    To run for the board positions of President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Show Director, Promotions and Membership Director, a member must have been in good standing with the Club for the past twelve months and be at least eighteen years of age to be elected to the Board, and must be represented at the annual meeting in person or by written proxy.



    Terms of office are not to exceed four consecutive years in one position.



    All elected positions will take office the start of the new fiscal year.



    The newly elected Board shall meet with the past Board a minimum of two times prior to the new fiscal year.



    Board of Directors meetings will be held a minimum of once a month.
